Bruins Junior Varsity Defeats Winchester 60-38



The Blackford Bruins Junior Varsity played host Saturday night to the Winchester Falcons. The Bruins were coming off their first loss in the Conference Thursday night at Mississinewa High School. Blackford entered the game 6-6 overall, looking to earn their 7th win of the year and match their win total from last year. Blackford jumped all over Winchester from the opening tip, dominating the first half to extend to a 28-11 half-time lead. Kentral Toomer played some of his best basketball of the season, scoring 22 points, delivering 4 assists and collecting 4 steals in 3 quarter of play! Reggie Duren scored 22 points for the Bruins, collecting 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Jacob Dillon had a monster game for the Bruins, Dillon contributed 8 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks and 1 steal in 3 quarters of play! The Bruins defeated the Winchester Falcons 60-38, improving to 7-6 overall. Blackford has now matched their win total from last year with 7 wins through 13 games. The Bruin's Junior Varsity has now scored 60 points or more in 3 games so far this year, a feat that the Junior Varsity accomplished one time over the previous two years. The Blackford Junior Varsity plays Frankton High School and Monroe Central High School next weekend!

Ryan Gorrell - 2 rebounds and 2 assists

Jayveon McPhaul - 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal

Jacob Barry - 1 point, 1 rebound and 1 steal
