Blackford Basketball Players of the Month for November!
Kian Wells
Senior Kian Wells earns the November player of the month for Blackford. Wells helped lead the Bruins to back to back wins, pouring in 19 points with 5 made 3-pointers in the season home opener vs Bluffton High School.  Wells followed up his 19 point breakout game vs Bluffton to score 15 points in a road win at Blue River High School. Wells had a season high 8 assists in the season opener. He is currently leading the Bruins with averaging 13 points per game and 4 assists per game. Congratulations to Kian Wells.
Kentral Toomer
Junior Kentral Toomer earns Junior Varsity player of the month for Blackford for the month of November. Toomer is currently leading the Junior Varsity at 10 points per game, 4 assists per game and over 4 steals per game. Toomer had a breakout game Saturday evening vs Blue River, scoring 13 points, distributing 6 assists and collecting 5 steals in the JV's first victory on the year.  Congratulations to Kentral Toomer.
Blackford Basketball Players of the Month for December!
Gage Baker
Congrats to Junior Gage Baker for earning Player of the Month honors for Blackford's Varsity during the month of December. Baker's strong play in the month of December was a major factor in the strong start for Blackford in the calendar year of 2023. Baker averaged 10 points per game (3rd on team in Dec), 6.5 rebounds per game (1st on team over 2 rebounds), 2.7 assists per game (3rd on team in Dec), 2.3 steals per game (2nd on team in Dec), 1.5 blocks per game (1st on team in Dec). Baker's strong month included a near triple double vs Elwood, scoring 14 points, grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Baker most recently is coming off the first double-double this year by any Bruin with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the victory vs North Knox. Baker also knocked down a key 3-pointer late in the game vs Rushville to secure a victory for Blackford. It was a strong month for Gage, Congratulations!
Reggie Duren
Congrats to Sophomore Reggie Duren for earning Player of the Month for December, for the Bruins Junior Varsity Basketball team. Over the 6 games in December, Duren averaged 15 points per game, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and over 1 steal per game for the Bruins. Duren's month of December included back to back 20 point games vs Alexandria and Elwood. Duren shot a blistering 44% from the 3 point line over his 6 games in December. Congrats to Reggie!
Blackford Basketball - Players of the Month for January!
Gage Baker
Congratulations to Junior Gage Baker for earning Player of the Month for the Bruins for his strong play in the month of January. Gage Baker averaged 17 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1 block per game. Baker's production helped lead the Bruins to 5 wins in the month of January. Baker posted double-doubles vs Madison Grant and Monroe Central. Blackford will need Baker to continue his development down the stretch as the Bruins prepare enter sectional play looking to make a run in the tournament.
Reggie Duren
Congratulations to Reggie Duren for earning Co-Player of the Month for the Bruins Junior Varsity, sharing the award with Kentral Toomer for the month of January. Duren helped lead the Bruins Junior Varsity to 5 wins in the month of January. Duren poured in over 20 points twice in the month of January, including a career high 22 points in the Bruins win over Winchester High School. Duren scored in double figures for 7 straight games in the month of January. Reggie Duren averaged 15.7 points per game, 3 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 2 steals over the 8 games in January. The Bruins will need a strong finish to the season from Duren and Toomer to finish the year with a winning record!

Congratulations to Kentral Toomer for earning Co-Player of the Month for the Bruins Junior Varsity, sharing the award with Reggie Duren. Toomer helped lead the Bruins Junior Varsity to 5 wins in the month of January. Toomer scored over 20 points in 3 out of the 8 games in January, including a career high 24 points twice vs Madison Grant and Eastbrook. Toomer has averaged 14.7 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 4.1 assists per game and 3.3 steals per game in the month of January. The Bruins will need Toomer to have a strong finish for the final 5 JV games to finish the season with a winning record. Congrats to Toomer and Duren!
